Getting Ready Preparing a meal for 250 people takes some planning, a dose of creativity,
and a lot of food! St. Paul Evangelistic Association (SPEA), under the direction of Pastor Peter Rodewald, supplies
the lions share. Using five commercial trucks, SPEA collects, stores, and distributes food to its member churches, JESUS
Delivers being one of them.
Beginning in March of 2008, the JESUS Delivers ministry setup a 500 square foot preparation
area within the SPEA distribution center to make preparing the meal and stocking the truck simpler and more efficient.
The space has a refrigerator, coffee maker, food storage, food prep tables, a meat slicer, utensils, and dedicated storage
for our food.
Member churches have also started the "Church Home Cookin" program where small groups buy,
prepare, and serve home cooked meals. Chili, chicken wild rice soup, turkey sandwiches, goolosh, and barbequed meatballs
have been favorites in the past.
