Toward the end of a serving day, we had given away nearly all of the clothing from the bin. Two gentlemen who had never
frequented the truck came up to the table and asked if we had anymore shoes or boots. Their current footwear situation involved
duck tape. At that point of the day, the answer was unfortunately, "No, we're sorry, what we had went hours ago...We'll
try to get some for next week..." They asked again, "Are you sure that you don't have size 10 tennis shoes or
size 11 work boots?" To which we responded, "We're so sorry...but we do have some food for you over there (pointing
to the truck)..." They were happy to get in line for lunch and said, "...thank you anyway..." As we were remerchandising
the table, a blue Suzuki SUV pulled up next to us. The driver exited the car and as she handed me a large shopping bag full
of stuff asked, "Can you get rid of this for me?" "Sure," I replied. As I looked inside the bag, I spied
at what looked to be shoes at the bottom. Digging further I found...one pair of size 10 tennis shoes and one pair of size
11 work boots. By the time I looked up, she was climbing back in the truck...I asked, "Who do I thank?" She responded,
"God!" No more needs to be said!
